NEWS FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Hello, Waretown Historical Society Members and Friends!
We are seeing plenty of April showers, trees are in bloom, and the air is finally beginning to warm. The birds are building their nests. Spring has arrived at the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum, and we hope to see you there, too! Please mark your calendar for our spring events:
Monday, April 21, 2025, 7:30pm--Regular meeting of the Waretown Historical Society, Little Red Schoolhouse Museum. Help us make plans for spring and summer!
Mini-Program: In honor of Arbor Day, the township donated a flowering cherry blossom tree to the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum! We will plant it on Monday evening, in memory of someone who was instrumental in establishing Waretown Historical Society. Find out who, as we remember an old friend, and plant our new tree with a shiny golden shovel!
Executive Board: There will not be an Executive Board meeting in April. See you at 7:30pm!
Saturday, May 3, 2025, 5-8pm—Music in the Park, Corliss Park Pavilion. Come join us for a summer kick-off celebration! The band “Problem Child” will perform. There will also be face painting, a bounce house, food & ice cream trucks, and best of all—museum tours! Bring a lawn chair and bug spray.
PLEASE NOTE--The monthly open house for May is canceled.
Minutes: Don't forget to check out the minutes of our March meeting, posted on our website, waretownhistoricalsociety.org . You will find them under the “minutes” tab at the top of the home page. Read them now, so you’ll be ready to vote Monday evening!
Please become a member of Waretown Historical Society, or give the gift of history! Your dues help keep the museum doors open. A membership in Waretown Historical Society costs only $5 a year, or $10 for two years. Please contact Linda Bleeke at 609-618-1311, or email [email protected]
Whether you celebrate Easter or Passover, I wish the happiest of Spring Holidays to everyone!
Sincerely,
Adele
