Hello, Waretown Historical Society Members and Friends!
Welcome to 2026 at Waretown Historical Society! We are thrilled to have a dual celebration this year—150 years of Ocean Township, and 250 years of the United States!
Mark your calendars for our upcoming events:
Monday, January 19, 2026, 7:30pm--Regular meeting of the Waretown Historical Society, Little Red Schoolhouse Museum. Join us as we take a deep dive into planning events for this historic year—for both our town—and our nation.
Mini-Program: Our new shed building is now complete, and as I’ve heard from our hard-working, dedicated volunteers: it’s ahead of schedule and under budget! Come out on Monday night and see for yourself! Kudos to Aiden O’Hearn and John Pawlowski! We are very proud of them both and thrilled to show you what they have accomplished.
Executive Board: There will be an Executive Board meeting in January. Please come to the museum at 7:00pm!
Sunday, February 1, 2026, 2-4pm—Monthly Open House is CANCELED again. On the bright side, the work on the shed is finished and exhibits will soon be moving in. Come out on Monday for a sneak peek! We look forward to our grand opening in April—Come see our new museum layout and our shed.
❄️PLEASE NOTE: The January and February meetings are sometimes canceled due to bad weather. I will send a follow-up email the day of the meeting if weather is an issue.
Plan ahead: we will be having an election of officers for our executive board in April. If anyone is interested in serving as an officer—or on the nominating committee—please let Linda Bleeke know.

Minutes: The minutes of our last meeting have been updated. Don't forget to check them out. They are posted on our website, Waretownhistoricalsociety.org. You will find them under the “minutes” tab at the top of the home page. Please read them before January’s meeting, so you’ll be ready to vote!
