Sept 17, 2024 Meeting Minutes
People In Attendance: Adele S, Linda B, Aidan O, Ron T, John Y, June M, John Pu, Peg M, Don M, Tracy P, and Grace L
Meeting Called to Order: 7:30pm
Thoughts And Prayers:
Flag Salute
Previous minutes have been posted; no corrections needed. June M accepted the minutes, John Pu seconded
Treasures Report: We Purchased and paid quite a bit this month. We paid for everything for Music In The Park, we order new apparel, and wood worker repair
Memorials and Membership: No Memorials. Membership is up to 105 members
Correspondence: Carl J thanked us for having him present at our summer Friday's.
Mini Program: Ron T presented the mini program sharing stories of local interest. Everyone enjoyed them.
Music In the Park: It was a successful event despite the weather, we had over 150 people at the event. Everyone loved the band, and the alpacas.
Open House Report: We were not open due to Labor Day weekend.
Community Outreach: The Friends of the Waretown Library used the museum for their meeting due to the meeting room at the library being closed.
Pineland’s Jamboree: We are preparing!
Out Front Sign Report: The new sign for the museum dedicated to Henry Gerken is moving along.
Flag Program Report: We have new Flag Sponsorship posters, and we are getting stickers that say “We Support The Waretown Historical Society Flag Program”.
Trustee Report: Ron is taking care of the drip in the bathroom, under sink.
Acquisitions: Linda D donated a graduation certificate from her mother who went to the Little Red Schoolhouse. The certificates were hand lettered by her grandfather.
Movie Night: We will be having fundraiser movie night Oct 5 from 6:30 to 9:30. The movie will be Hocus Pocus. We will serve popcorn and water with the tickets they purchase. We will have Chick Fil A serving food and ice-cream.
