Waretown Historical Society Minutes of Meeting May 20th, 2024
People In Attendance: Adele S, Linda B, Aidan O, Ron T, June M, Sandy G, John Pu, Lydia D, John Po, Grace L, Kelly Z, Peg M, and Don M
People in our Thoughts and Prayers: Jeanne B is doing well, Richard B has passed and Annie G. tests came back. Please pray for her.
Meeting called to order at 7:30

Motion to accept minutes of previous meeting: First Acceptance Motion: June M, Second Motion: John Pu.
Treasurer's Report: Linda B reported, Balance this morning is $22,505. All bills are paid, our gas bill went way down. The society purchased a few things for the museum. We purchased a Retro Refrigerator, also we purchased some material to fix the roof of shed.
Motion to accept: Grace T, Seconded Motion Ron Trinder. all in favor AYE
Mini Program: Adele S and Linda B explained the General Store area
Correspondence: Adele S received a letter to be a part of the town's 14th Annual Independence Day celebration on Saturday June 29, 2024 at 10:00am at Corliss Park, and Aidan O will also be speaking. We will have the museum open afterwards, the docents will be Aidan O, Ron T, Linda B, June M, and Adele S.
New Business
The museum was open for the GO TOPLESS JEEP SHOW. Ron T and June M were the docents they said it was a great turn out.
Aidan O, Ron T, and John Pu traveled to the FORKED RIVER MOUNTAINS for their annual cleaning day.
The monthly open house was another great turnout. We had roughly 50 people come out to see us. Many of the children enjoyed working on the loom
Aidan O has been getting everything together for Music In The Park which will be on Sep 7 from 5 - Dusk. We will have Kelly Z performing with her band “Problem Child”, a Food Truck “Lunch Wagon”, an Ice Cream Truck, and a face painter.
Scholarship Night: We selected two recipients for our scholarship. Adele will be there to present the award.
Flag Report: John Paw sent out all the letters to the businesses.
Trustee Report: Aidan O reported Mulch was put down, we will be putting a butterfly garden on the side of the museum.
Ron T announced that we will be giving plaques out to the members who are no longer actively serving on the Executive Board.
