Waretown Historical Society July 15th, Meeting Minutes
People In Attendance: Adele S, Linda B, Aidan O, Ron T, June M, John Pu, Garry C, John Y, Sandy G, Peg M, Don M, Jeanne B,
People In Our Thoughts and Prayers: Lee R. Annie G.
Meeting Called To Order: 7:35pm
Treasurers Report: Linda B reported that all bills are paid, several deposits received from Flag Program. John Pu made a motion, Ron T. seconded
Correspondence Report: Linda B reported that we received a thank you card from Kyle C for the scholarship, and Adele stated that she received a thank you card from Mia H. for her scholarship. We also received a letter from the Ocean County Historical Society looking for us to be a part of their yearly History Day. We will discuss this at the next meeting.
Memorials and membership - 2 new members, 90 yearly members.
Aidan O showed pictures of the Independence Day Celebration and the school bell being installed.
Ron T began his mini program.
Program Committee Report: All the summer programs are planned and will be posted on the website.
John Y discussed things about the curator. He is making it very easy for someone to take over the job.
Open House Report: We have been having terrific turnouts at our open houses, great crowds. We also have been open on the days that the town has Music In The Park.
Adele S and Aidan O both gave great speeches at the Independence Day celebration
Summer Friday Report: Sandy G. gave a nice presentation on evacuating yourself and your pets in an emergency.
Music In The Park Report: Aidan O reported that he is working to get a sustainably large crowd, working with local people to advertise. We are going to sponsor a great end of summer celebration. We will have a great band “Problem Child”, Food Trucks, Ice Cream Trucks, Face Painter, Balloon Designer, Corn Hole, Bocci Ball, and our local fire department. He is also looking into getting some Alpacas from the Alpaca Farm to be at the celebration.
Trustees Report: John Pu replaced a toilet seat in the spare bathroom. Electrician rescheduled for tomorrow. July 16
Flag program - we need more volunteers. Don M. will volunteer. Tom S. will join and volunteer.
