Before the meeting was called to order Aidan O asked if anyone had someone to mention in our thoughts & prayer list.

Minutes of June's meeting: Adele requested a statement to be inserted into the June's minutes from when she asked Jeanne B., a question concerning past practice for voting. Motion to accept the minutes made by June M., and seconded by John Pu. Linda B stated that April minutes are still not approved, and that she would give someone the recording of the election discussion portion of the meeting that was recorded and put it on a thumb drive.
Treasurer's report - Beginning balance $6396.81. There were 10 debits including one of our insurance policies totally $1,485.02. We had Deposits in the amount of $1,293.00. Our ending balance is $6,204.79. Motion to accept the treasurer's report John Pu. and seconded by Beth C. One member asked if reports could be handed out to everyone, Treasurer indicated that members have always been able to request reports.
Corresponding Secretary - nothing in the mail. Grove C from BHS sent us through email Barnegat Ways Newsletter.
Membership - up to 101 regular members.
Program Committee - Ocean County Historical Documentary - parts 1-8 is on YouTube. Very informative episodes about the goings on during revolutionary war here in Ocean County. Adele S was interviewed for this documentary. Township Flotilla was a smaller gathering due to the high winds, Adele gave a history talk about ship building here in Waretown.
Township Committee Report - Lydia D
Aidan O presented a plaque to Lydia D for all the help and support she has given the society over the years. She truly gave him support with the new "Hands-On History" Exhbit.
Social Media Report - Upcoming events have been posted. We have 650 followers on Facebook!
Flag Program - John Pa. $4.200.00 total for this year. This is the highest amount in the history of the program.
Trustee Report - It was brought to our attention, that the new building was too warm during the very hot days in July. An executive decision was made to purchase a window AC to keep the temperature more even. Adele explained that the decoys could crack and we did not want that to happen. John Pu waters all the flowers around the museum.
OLD BUSINESS -
Tree ceremony and July 4th - it was a lovely day, town handed out water and fans. Beth C. and her crew set out snacks inside the museum for all to enjoy, John Pa made a statement about the tree that will bloom red.
NEW BUSINESS -
Summer Fridays - still need docents
Tuesdays - Music in the Park, only a couple more, need docents
Flotilla - July 18th Holiday Beach Club - very foggy, 7 boats attempted. Vision was limited. Adele did a nice speech on shipbuilding in Waretown There was a food truck and beverages outside the clubhouse. WE WERE NOT PREMITTED TO USE BATHROOMS IN CLUBHOUSE
Amendment Discussion
Aidan O stated the amendment that Sarah L. had presented at the previous meeting was not written correctly. According to our research with Roberts Rules, an amendment needs to have the current by-law written first and then the proposed amendment written underneath it. Ammendments also need to be signed and seconded. The second proposed amendment was not considered an amendment since, it was not referring to a currenet bylaw. Sarah was informed to resubmit the one amendment at the following meeting for another review by executive board.
John Pa. was given the floor and announced that he wanted to read a statement he had written up about the latest disturbance at the society.
John Pa. made a suggestion that we dont move forward with any amendments to the bylaws until the bylaws committee meets and membership approves our new bylaws. Otherwise we will be unable to move forward efficiently.
A bylaws committee was formed, sign up sheet was passed around. We will start meeting on a regular basis to review bylaws.
The society also agreed to have a attorney review our new bylaws when completed, possibly Pro-bono who would charge roughly $300. We agreed to not exceed $700 with any attorney.

Questions from the floor - Ron T, stood up and explained how the meetings are making him ill, physically and mentally and his family is concerned. He announced that he would be taking a step back from the meetings. He would continue to help around the museum if needed, but no more Monday meetings untill the become friendly and enjoyable again. Sandy Gray also agreed and left the meeting with Ron.
