Mini Program: A Talk With Ron
Treasurers Report: Linda B - presented the membership with our 2024 year end spending and deposits. Our current savings account is not earning very much interest. John Pu made a motion to look into another bank to put the money into, Don M seconded. Kelly Z suggested that we look into Maclean for advise. Kelly Z also suggested we look into online accounts who offer higher interest. The email that Adele S received from Anne was about a company that might help us fill out the 990EZ form, but it was not the one we have used in the past, Bandits does not exist anymore. Linda B. will research how to file that form and do it. Grace made a motion to accept the report, June seconded. Grace also volunteered to do the audit for 2024.
Membership: Linda B - Membership renewals are coming in as we speak. As of today we have recieved 30 renewals in the mail. We have had several people join from our open houses every month.
Open House Report: Aidan O - Our open house on the 5th was very well attended, we had several new members join.
Memorials: Linda B, Aidan O - A candle was lit for Scott Sprague Jr in December. The Museum welcome sign in honor of Henery Gerken is painted and is being sent back to school for the carving of the letters. We are also going to be adding a electric light to brigthen the sign at night.
Correspondence: Linda B, Aidan O -Breakfast for the Scholarship will be on Mar. 14, 2025 at 8:30am. We received our copy of Steve Dodson’s recent book which includes the diary of Paul Warren. We received our most recent copy the newsletter from the League of Historical Societies. We also received our copy of the Ocean County Historical Society newsletter. Linda B wrote a thank you note to Keith B for a donation. Don and Peg M also gave us a donation, and John Y gave us a donation.
Program Committee: Aidan O - We will be having Music in the Park on May 3rd and then again some time in September. We may have Popcorn Park zoo come out with some animals to pet, etc. Kelly’s band will be performing again. We will have a bounce house on site along with a food truck and a ice cream truck. There is some discussion about having a fund raiser at Albert Hall. The Holiday Gala was very well attended, over 100 people. Santa was wonderful, we gave him a donation.
Flag Report: Aidan O, Ron T, John Pu - On Jan. 9th, flags were put out in celebration of Jimmy Carter Memorial Services in Dc.Some flags have been replaced due to damage. The flags are ready for the new season.
Trustees Report: Aidan O, Ron T, John Pu - shed has been organized as much as it can be without throwing anything out. All Christmas decorations have been put away. We are having trouble with alarm system, John Pa will take a look at it.
Social Media: Aidan O - Linda B taught Aidan O the basic necessities of our website. Aidan O wanted to mentioned that our new Facebook page has over 520 followers, more than double the previous page!
Aquisitions: Linda B - Lydia D gave us glass negatives, they belonged to Leo Wilgus. An attempt to look at them will take place in the future.
Discussion from the floor: Jeanne B, would like ideas for 150 year celebration.
