Statement from Aidan M. O’Hearn
Due to the ongoing construction of the museum and the development of our new building, there will be no Monthly Meeting on October 20th. While we will miss gathering with everyone this month, this brief pause marks an important and exciting chapter in our history. We are thrilled to share that the grand reopening of the museum, along with the unveiling of our new addition, is planned for the spring. This project is more than just an expansion—it represents a bold vision for the future of our society. From the very beginning, our organization has thrived on growth, innovation, and community, and I am fully determined to make this the greatest addition since our founding.
This new space will not only enhance our ability to preserve and share history but will also provide new opportunities for learning, engagement, and collaboration. Every detail of this expansion has been carefully planned to honor our legacy while paving the way for a dynamic future. I truly believe this transformation will strengthen our mission and position the museum as a vibrant center for culture and community. We deeply appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this transformative period. Together, we are building something extraordinary—something that will inspire generations to come.
On October 18th, the Township Committee and the Historical Society came together with the Waretown United Methodist Church to commemorate a remarkable milestone: the church's 175th anniversary! It was a wonderful celebration of history and community.
